Welcome to Techboomers!

Hello, friends!

If you're here, it's because you want to learn what the Internet has to offer.  Now, the Internet is a wide and wondrous place, but it doesn't have to be intimidating.  Sure, there are over 175 million websites on the Internet today (and that's just counting the ones that people actually use), but at Techboomers, we've done the sorting and heavy lifting for you.

Here, you'll find tutorials on the most popular and useful websites on the Internet, from social networks and dating sites to everyday tools for getting directions and knowing what the weather's going to be like.  You can even learn how to listen to music, watch videos, and have phone calls right on your computer through the power of the Internet!  Plus, we have special resources dedicated to 50+ adults.

Come learn how the Internet can make your life better and easier today!

So, what is Techboomers?

Our founder, Steve Black, got the idea for Techboomers when he ran into the problem of how to teach his mom and other relatives how to use the Internet while he was busy running his SEO consulting business.  When he couldn't find a website with free, clear, and up-to-date lessons that could let his relatives learn on their own, he decided to make one himself.  Using his business savvy, he recruited a team of writers, videographers, marketers, and website developers, and his vision for Techboomers came to life.

In this sense, Techboomers is a thank-you gift to the "baby boomer" generation (hence our name).  They taught us how to grow up in their world, so now we're returning the favour by teaching them how to keep up with our world.  Of course, Techboomers isn't just for older adults; anyone looking to advance beyond basic computer skills, or just wanting to learn about a new website, is welcome to learn with us.

We work hard to make sure that all of our tutorials are complete, simple to understand, and -- most importantly -- always free to access and use however you want.  That's our pledge to you.

What can I learn on Techboomers?

The best way to discover all of the things you can learn on Techboomers is to click the menu items at the top of the page. These represent the different categories of websites we teach on Techboomers. (Social, Entertainment, Shopping, etc.). How to get involved with Techboomers

If you like Techboomers (or at least the idea of it), we could really use your help to make it even bigger and better!  An easy way to do that is to follow what we do on social media.  This includes:

"Liking" and subscribing to our Facebook page Following our Twitter feed Subscribing to our YouTube channel

Our social media pages contain news and announcements from us and our partner services, so you can stay in the loop with our current activities.  We'd also love it if you could share our social media pages listed above with your friends and family!

Another way to get involved with us is to create an account on the Techboomers website.  In addition to letting you keep track of what courses and tutorials you've mastered (or want to tackle next), it also automatically subscribes you to our weekly newsletter.  That way, we can keep you up-to-date on our newest tutorials, events, and milestones.  And, of course, you can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time.

We’re always looking for your feedback

We'd always like to hear how we can make our website and courses better:

  • Is something on our site difficult to use or understand?
  • Did we miss a step in a tutorial?
  • Is there something that you want to learn how to do on a website that we haven't covered?
  • Is there a new website that you think our users would like to know about?

Leave a comment in one of our categories or courses, on our Facebook page, on our Twitter feed, or on one of our YouTube videos.  You can also give us general feedback by sending us an email at [email protected]techboomers.com.

Well, that's about everything we can tell you about Techboomers for now.  Have fun learning!
