As an Amazon Prime member, you get more than just discounts on your shipping costs. You also get extra discounts on specific products, and early access to other deals. We’ll discuss a few of them in this article.
Just a heads-up that some of the services we’re reviewing here have affiliate partnerships with us, so we may earn a commission if you visit one of them and buy something. You can read more about how this works at https://techboomers.com/how-to-support-techboomers.
Early access to Amazon Lightning Deals
“Lightning Deals” are a feature of Amazon where discounts are offered on a specific quantity of items for a limited amount of time. If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can access these deals 30 minutes before they become available to everyone else on Amazon. This means that you can secure your order before an item sells out.
To see what Lightning Deals you currently have exclusive access to as an Amazon Prime subscriber, go to www.amazon.com and log in. In the menu across the top, click Today’s Deals, and then click All Deals below that.
In the left-hand search menu, under “Deal Type”, click Prime Early Access Deals.
From there, simply click on an item for more details, and follow the instructions in our How to Buy on Amazon tutorial from step 5 onward to claim your deal. Hurry, though: you only have 15 minutes to do so!
20% off diaper subscriptions from Amazon
If you’re an Amazon Prime member with an infant or two at home (or at least on the way), then you can cut down on the cost of diapers that you order periodically from Amazon.
To do so, go to www.amazon.com and log in, and then click this link to go to Amazon Mom. Once you’re there, use the buttons and drop-down menus here to search for eligible diapers by size and brand (click the arrows on either side to scroll through options that have your specified parameters). When you find the type of diaper that you want, click Add beneath it.
In the window that pops up, use the two drop-down menus here to select how many packages of diapers you wish to receive, and how often. Then click Begin Subscription.
15% off of select items when you complete an Amazon Baby Registry
If you have a baby on the way and you’re an Amazon Prime user, you can get an additional 15% discount on the total sale price of items from certain Amazon departments. This will help you have everything you need for when your little bundle of joy arrives. Here are some of the specifics:
You must create a baby registry on Amazon in order to receive this discount. To do so, go to www.amazon.com and log in, and then click this link to go to the Baby Registry home page. From here, click Get Started and follow the instructions.
The discount can only be used on items that you order from the Baby, Beauty, Drugstore, Grocery, Maternity, and Toy departments from Amazon.
You can use the discount starting up to 30 days before your expected arrival date, and up to 180 days after the baby is born. However, you cannot use the discount within the first 14 days of creating your registry (even if your expected arrival date falls within this time range).
You can apply this discount to up to $5000 U.S. worth of eligible items ordered from Amazon (for a savings of up to $750).
Once you have applied this discount to an order, you cannot apply it to any other orders. Be sure to include all items that you wish to purchase in the order that you create once your registry is complete.
Those are some of the extra deals and sales that you have access to as an Amazon Prime member!
