How to Delete Your Yik Yak Account

Though Yik Yak can help you find fun and exciting things to do in your area and help you make connections with other locals, you may have found that most of what you’ve been seeing lately isn’t helping you, and you’re ready to move on to another app that helps you find local attractions or information. In this article, we’ll explain how to delete your Yik Yak account, and permanently disable your access to it.

To delete your Yik Yak account:

Deleting your Yik Yak account is as simple as deleting the Yik Yak app. Tap and hold the Yik Yak icon on your device’s home screen, and drag it to the trash can icon labelled “remove.” Once the app is uninstalled, your account will no longer be active, though information you posted will still exist within the app.

Detailed instructions on how to delete your Yik Yak account

  1. Find the Yik Yak icon on your device’s home screen.

  2. Tap and hold the Yik Yak icon, and drag it to the trash can icon labelled “remove.”

    Tap and hold the icon, and drag it up the screen toward the trash can icon that will appear, labelled Remove
  3. Wait for the app to uninstall.
  4. Remember that once you have uninstalled Yik Yak, you can no longer use the app.  However, any data you entered into Yik Yak cannot be removed.
