In this article, we’ll explain exactly how to sign up for Meetup; we’ll even include a step-by-step guide with pictures so you don’t miss a single step!
To sign up for Meetup:
- Go to www.meetup.com in your web browser, and click Sign Up.
- Choose to sign up with Facebook, Google, or email by clicking on one.
- Enter your name, email address, and choose a password. Then click Sign up.
- Verify your email address by clicking the link in the email Meetup sends you.
- Click Log in.

Detailed instructions on how to sign up for Meetup
1. Enter “www.meetup.com” in the address bar of your web browser of choice.
In this tutorial, we are using Google Chrome, but you can choose your favorite browser. Type “www.meetup.com” into the address bar.
2. Click the red Sign Up button.
By clicking Sign Up, you will be taken to the sign-up page, where you can enter your information.
3. Choose to sign up through Facebook, Google, or email.
Click Continue with Facebook to sign up for Meetup with your Facebook account, or click Continue with Google to sign up with your Google account. If you don’t want to sign up for Meetup with either of these accounts, click Or Sign Up with Email underneath.
If you choose to sign up with Facebook or Google, you can skip the next two steps. Meetup will pull the information it needs from your profile on either of these two services, and you will have no need to verify your email address.
4. Enter the information required for your chosen method of registration.
Click in the box labelled “Your Name” and type in your name; remember that other users will use this to identify you. Next, click in the box labelled “Email Address” and type in your email address. Finally, click in the box labelled “Password” and choose a password to protect your account with. When you’ve entered all of this information, click the red Sign Up button at the bottom of the page.
5. Verify your email address.
Meetup will immediately send an email to the email address you used to sign up. Open the email from “[email protected]” and click the blue link. If this link doesn’t work for some reason, copy and paste the link into your web browser’s address bar.
6. Click “Log In” to sign in to Meetup for the first time.
After you click the verification link, Meetup will redirect you back to their sign up page. Click Log In at the bottom of the page, and you should automatically be taken to the home page, already signed in. If Meetup prompts you to enter your log-in information, enter the email address and password you chose (or select Facebook or Google, and enter the relevant information for either of those accounts).
