In order to join the fun on Pinterest, you're going to need to create an account first.
Go to www.pinterest.com in your web browser.
You'll notice right off the top that Pinterest will ask you to log in before you can do anything. You can create an account on Pinterest by using your Facebook profile (if you have one), or else with an email address and password.
Let's assume, for the purpose of this tutorial, that you don't have a Facebook account. In that case, click in the box marked "Email" and type in your email address, and then click in the box marked "Create a Password" and type in a password for your account (it will appear as bullet points to keep people from spying it). Then click Sign Up.
You'll be asked for a few more details before your registration is complete. Click in the box labelled "First and Last Name" and type in your first and last names, then click the box labelled "Age" and type in your numerical age (e.g. "55"). Then click either button beside "Male" or "Female" to select your gender. Finally, click Come On In.
Now, you'll be presented with a list of potential topics for you to "follow" on Pinterest. Click the ones that you like to select them; if you change your mind on one, click it again to deselect it. You must select at least four. When you're done, click Follow at the bottom.
You'll next be asked to find and follow people you're connected with on social media. Click either Facebook or Twitter, and then click Find [Facebook/Twitter] Friends to log into the social media website that you chose and find friends to follow.
If you don't want to look for any friends to follow at the moment, you can click Skip at the bottom to skip this step. (You will have to confirm that this is really what you want to do.)
After finding some initial "pins" to show you, Pinterest will inform you that it has sent an email to you asking to confirm your email address. Log into the email account that you used to sign up for Pinterest, and open the email from Pinterest titled "Please Confirm Your Email." Then click Confirm Your Email.
You may have to log into Pinterest again, but otherwise, congratulations! You're all set up to use Pinterest!
