Now that we’ve shown you how to sign up for a Badoo account, you’re ready to start meeting people and finding matches on Badoo. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to use Badoo, including how to log in to your account, how to get matches, and how to send messages.
Logging in and out of Badoo
To log into your account, go to Badoo.com in your web browser and click Sign In in the top right corner.
Enter your email address and password, then click Sign Me In!
To log out, click the door icon beside your name on the left side.
When asked “do you really want to sign out?” click Yes.
Adding to your profile
When you first sign up for Badoo, you aren’t asked for many personal details. If you want better chances at getting more matches, you may want to add more information about yourself to your profile. Click your profile picture on the left to access your profile. It will highlight in purple when you are hovering over it.
Click the pencil icon beside any section of your profile to edit it. You can add information about your interests, appearance, living situation, and more.
Add more photos to your profile so people can see what you look like. Click Add Photos, then choose where you want to add photos from. You can import photos from your social media accounts, or upload photos from your computer.
You can also link some of your social media accounts, like Instagram and Twitter to verify your profile. Click the gear icon to go to your Settings, and then click the pencil icon beside any of the verification options under the "Your Account" heading to link that platform to your account.
You can also get here faster by clicking your profile picture icon, and then clicking any item to link to under the "Verifications" heading along the right side of the profile editing screen.
How to Meet People on Badoo
There are a few different features of Badoo that you can use to meet and communicate with other people. We’ll explain each feature and show you how to use them.
People Nearby
Click People Nearby to view profiles of other users in your area.
If you want to see more details about one of the people you see on the “People Nearby” page, click on their name to see their full profile. If you’re interested in getting to know them after having a look at their profile, click the heart button at the top left to “like” them. If they like you back, you’ll be matched!
Encounters
The “Encounters” feature is more of an online speed-dating type of feature. You’ll be shown other users’ first name, age, and picture.
Based on this, you can choose to “like” or “dislike” them. Click the heart button to “like” someone, or the “x” button to pass on them.
If you want to have a look at their full profile before deciding, click on their name at the top of the screen to see more of their personal details. In the same way that matching works for the “People Nearby” feature, if you and another user both “like” each other using “Encounters,” you’ll be matched.
Visitors
If you want to see who has recently viewed your profile, check out the “Visitors” feature. This feature allows you to see which users have checked you out! If users pay for the “Super Powers” feature, it will not show that they have viewed someone’s profile.
To see who has looked at your profile, click “Visitors” on the left.
You’ll be able to see who has looked at your profile. If you want to find out more about one of your visitors, click on their name to open their full profile. Keep in mind that unless you have the “Super Powers” feature, this person will know that you’ve looked at their profile.
Likes
To see who has “liked” your profile, click Liked You in the menu on the left.
Here you can see profiles of anyone who has already liked your profile. You can also see who you’ve matched with by selecting Matched at the top of your screen.
Messages
If you match with someone on Badoo, you’ll probably want to send them a message and chat with them. To access your messages, click Messages in the menu on the left.
A small window will pop up, where you can see all of your conversations listed on the left side. If you matched with someone, their name will appear on the left (even if you haven’t sent a message yet). Click on their name, and click Chat Now! to start chatting. You can also click No, Thanks to remove them from the messages window.
Click in the box labelled “Write a Message.” Type in what you’d like to say, then either hit the enter button on your keyboard, or click the blue button on the right to send.
You can filter your messages using the options in the top-left corner. If you only want to see messages from people you’ve matched with, click Matched. If you only want to see conversations with people who are currently online, click Online.
To delete a conversation, click the “…” button in the top right corner. Then click Delete.
When asked if you’re sure you want to delete this conversation, click Delete.
Favorites
After chatting with someone, you may feel like you’ve really hit it off! If you’re really interested in someone’s profile you’ve viewed, or really like someone you’ve matched with on Badoo, you can add them to your favorites.
To add someone to your favorites, click the star button next to their name in Messages, or click the star button in the top right corner of their profile.
If you subscribe to Badoo’s premium “Super Powers” service, you can see who has favorited you. Click Favorites on the left to see who has “favorited” you, as well as your own favorites.
To change your settings on Badoo
If you want to change your settings for notifications, privacy, or verified status, click your profile picture icon from any page, and then click the gear icon in the top right corner of your profile.
Here you’ll be able to see all of your account settings. Click the pencil icon beside any section of your settings to make changes. When you're finished with a section, click Save at the bottom.
