Match.com Events

So you’ve been using Match.com for a while, and maybe you’ve found someone whom you really click with, but are stumped as to what would be a fun date for the two of you to go on. Or maybe you haven’t had much luck and just want somewhere to go where you could maybe meet someone who’s into what you like.

DISCLAIMER

Just a heads-up that some of the services we’re reviewing here have affiliate partnerships with us, so we may earn a commission if you visit one of them and buy something. You can read more about how this works at https://techboomers.com/how-to-support-techboomers.

Whatever your reason, Match has a service called “Stir” that will help you get out from behind your computer and into the real world to start having some fun and meeting new people!

How to Sign Up for Match.com Events

  1. Go to www.match.com and log in (if you haven’t already). Move your mouse cursor over Events in the menu across the top, and then click Stir Events.

    Match Events menu option

  2. You’ll be taken to a list of upcoming events hosted by Match’s “Stir” program that are close to where you live. Each event will have:

    – A title
    – A promotional photo
    – When it’s being held
    – A short description of what it’s about
    – How much it costs (or it will say “Event Full” if all spots are currently reserved).

    Match Stir page

If you don’t see anything that interests you, you can click Change City and then click on the name of a city that appears in the drop-down menu to look for a Stir event somewhere else. But if you do see something that looks like it could be fun, click Learn More.

  3. You will now be taken to a page that gives much more detailed information about the event. In addition to the title, promotional photo, date, short description, and cost, you’ll also see:

    – The specific time of the event
    – Who’s hosting the event (you can usually click on their name to go to their website)
    – Where the event specifically is (and you can get directions there via Google Maps)
    – More detailed information about what you’ll be doing at the event
    – More detailed information about who’s putting the event on

    Reserve spots button

A key area to look at is the “Event Mix” section. This shows you how many spots are still available for this event, as well as the general age range of people who will probably enjoy this event. Both of these stats are separated by gender.

If it looks like a good time to you, click Reserve Your Spots.

  4. You will now be taken to a screen where you can fill out all of the information you need to purchase tickets for this event. It’s kind of big, so we’ll separate it into two halves. The first half deals with who is going to the event (i.e. you and any guests you want to bring).

    Purchase Stir event tickets

Click in the boxes labelled “First Name” and “Last Name” and type in your first and last names (preferably as they appear on a piece of photo ID), respectively. Then, in the “Add Guests” section, you can click the buttons for each guest slot to invite a male guest, female guest, or no guest. Your purchase total in the top-right corner will change according to your choices.

  5. The second half of the ticket purchase page is where you’ll input your billing information.

    Payment screen

We’ll assume that you want to pay with a credit card, so click in each of the boxes highlighted in the first section here and type in or select:

    – Your full name as it appears on your credit card
    – Your credit card number
    – The month and year that your credit card expires
    – Your credit card’s security code (click the question mark if you need help finding it)

(NOTE: The system should automatically select a payment type based on your card number. If it doesn’t, click one of the pictures underneath “Select Payment Type” that corresponds to your brand of credit card.)

After that, click in each of the boxes highlighted in the second section and select or fill in:

    – Your first name
    – Your last name
    – Your street address
    – Your unit address (if applicable)
    – The city in which you live
    – The state/province/territory in which you live
    – Your mailing code
    – The country in which you live

  6. When you’ve got everything in order, click Purchase. Remember that you can’t get a refund for any event tickets, so make sure that you really want them and you’re able to actually go to the event before you buy!

    Confirm and Purchase

  7. You’ll be taken to a confirmation screen and/or receive a confirmation email with your tickets. Print either of these out and take it with you to the event (along with your friends, if you invited any).

That’s how to find and sign up for Stir Events on Match! If you go to one, remember to be yourself and have fun!
