How To Get An Amazon Prime Free Trial

Last updated: September 14, 2015 - 12:20pm EDT

Is Amazon Prime free?

Amazon Prime isn't free (see our How Much is Amazon Prime article).  However, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial of the service, after which you will be charged the regular rate.

Also note that you must already have an account on Amazon before you can sign up for Amazon Prime.  If you do not have an Amazon account, you can learn how to make one with our How to Create an Amazon Account tutorial.

How to sign up for an Amazon Prime free trial

  1. Go to www.amazon.com in your web browser and log in.

  2. Click Try Prime in the top-right corner.

  3. On the next screen, click Start your 30-Day Free Trial.

  4. If you have not entered any billing or address information for Amazon yet, you will have to do so now (since Amazon will need to charge you the regular rate once your free trial expires).  See steps 7 and 9 in our How to Buy on Amazon tutorial to learn about how to enter billing and address information on Amazon.

Once your billing and address information has been input, click Complete Sign Up.

That's about all there is to signing up for Amazon Prime and getting a free trial!
