Techboomers Tips and Tricks

Once you have the basics down for using our website at www.techboomers.com, here are a few ways to make your experience with us as smooth and efficient as possible.

6 Handy Tips and Tricks for Techboomers

1. If you’re lost, click our logo

If at any time you want to get back to the homepage of our website, just click our logo in the top-left corner of the page you’re on.

2. Follow your “Breadcrumbs” back the way you came

When you’re browsing through categories, websites, and tutorials, you’ll notice what are called “Breadcrumbs” in the top-left corner of the screen.  These show you the sequence of links that you clicked in order to get to where you are now.  Another strategy if you get lost is to click on one of the words here to take you back to that page.

3. Use shortcuts to jump between tutorials

Instead of going back to the website page each time you want to view a new tutorial for that website, you can get to a new tutorial for the same website from a tutorial page.  Simply click one of the buttons in the right-hand menu to quickly go to your tutorial of choice.

You can also use the buttons at the bottom of the tutorial page to go to the previous or next tutorial in the sequence.

4. Stay up-to-date with our newsletter and social media

Signing up for our email newsletter allows us to send you news about what we’re up to, what new lessons we have in the works, and other important announcement about our partner services and the products we feature tutorials on.  You are automatically signed up for our newsletter when you sign up for an account on Techboomers.

5. Print out tutorials if it makes things easier for you

It’s possible to have a tutorial on our website open at the same time as the website that it’s for, so you can flip back and forth between reading the lesson and actually going through the motions on the actual website.  Our Multiple Browser Tabs tutorial will show you how to do this.

However, it may be easier for you to just have the tutorial on a piece of paper in front of you while you only have the website that it’s for on your computer screen to focus on.  You can do this by navigating to a tutorial page, clicking Print This Tutorial in the right-hand menu (if a new browser tab appears, close it), and click Print in the top-left corner of the window that pops up.  From there, just use the prompt that appears to set up the page(s) for your printer, and print the lesson out!
