Now that you know what OkCupid is and how it works, it’s time to find out how much it can cost you. Which aspects of OkCupid are free, and how will that affect your ability to find matches? These are the questions that we'll be answering in this article.
OkCupid is free to use, and the majority of its features can be used without a paid subscription. You are able to “like” other users, update most of your preferences, use the “Quickmatch” function, and see all of your matches for free. You can also log in online or use the app anytime, as often as you like, for free.
Unlike eHarmony.com or Match.com, you do not have to pay a monthly subscription fee to use OkCupid. If you want access to more features with your OkCupid account, you need to join the A-List. There are two forms of paid subscription for OkCupid: “A-List Basic” and “A-List Premium.” The A-List allows you additional privileges such as advanced search options that increase your likelihood of finding a match, being able to see every user who has visited your profile and liked you, and most importantly, no ads!
OkCupid costs as little as $4.95 per month for the A-List Basic package and up to $24.90 per month for A-List Premium. There are three levels of subscriptions for both A-List Basic and A-List Premium. The longer your sign up for, the cheaper your rate will be. However, your standard OkCupid account is 100% free to use.
Here is a full breakdown of the available packages:
A List Basic: A List Premium:
6 months for $4.95/month 6 months for $19.90/month
3 months for $7.95/month 3 months for $22.90/month
1 month for $9.95/month 1 month for $24.90/month
You can also pay to “Boost” your profile, which allows you to be seen first on Quickmatch, and to be shown more frequently in other users’ match results. A boost can be purchased at any time for $1.99, or you can purchase 5 boosts for $1.89 each, or 10 boosts for $1.69 each.
1. To upgrade your OkCupid, select Purchase A-List from your home screen.
2. Choose a subscription plan, and click Subscribe.
3. Fill out your credit card information or connect through Paypal, and select Confirm Purchase.
With A-List Basic, you get the following added features:
The with A-List, you do not have to deal with annoying ads as you try to find romance.
You can filter your searches even further, searching by attractiveness, personality traits, body type, and more. You can also search for matches based on how a user has answered a question.
You can visit profiles anonymously without notifying the user you were there, unless you want them to know.
Without the A-List, you cannot see who has liked you, and you can only see the last 5 users who have visited your profile. Unless you can spend all day on OkCupid, this can be frustrating. With the A-List, you can see everyone who has ever visited your profile, as well as anyone who has liked you.
Upgrading to the A-List will allow you to store up to 5000 messages, and it will send read receipts for your messages, so you know if someone has read what you’ve sent. It also filters messages by length, keywords, and attractiveness – giving you the best messages from your best matches. You can also see your chances of receiving a reply from any user you message.
Feel like your spur-of-the-moment choice of username isn’t helping you find the right partner? With the A-List, you can change your username without needing to delete your account, and build your entire profile from scratch.
With A-List Premium, you get all of the A-List Basic features, plus:
Receive a boost each day during peak hours to be seen by more people. See the How to Use OkCupid tutorial for more information on Boosting.
See and be seen by users who are more physically attractive matches.
See how users answered questions without needing to answer the same question. See the How to Use OkCupid tutorial for more information on answering Questions.
Your messages will always go to the top of the inbox of the users you choose to message.
