To use the Expedia website to book a cruise:
Go to www.expedia.com in your web browser and click Cruises in the menu across the top.
The window on the left side of the screen will help you get set up. First, click one of the buttons near the top to select what type of cruise you want to search for. Then, click each of the drop-down menus below that and select your destination, departure month, cruise line, cruise length, departure port, and any applicable discounts.
You can also click the check boxes at the bottom if any apply to you; they may end up getting you additional discounts, but you may need to provide some sort of proof. When you have entered all of your information, click Search to continue.
When you get to the search results menu, you can click the drop-down menu in the top-right corner to sort your results by:- How popular the cruise is
– How expensive the cruise is

(There may be other options, depending on the cruise line.) Scroll down to see information about the cabins being offered, including their features and available rates. When you see a good rate for a cabin that you like, click Select Cabin Type beside it.
You will now have to tell Expedia how many people will be staying in each cabin. Click the drop-down boxes labelled “Ages 21 and Up” and “Ages 0-20” and select how many adults and children, respectively, will be going on the cruise together. Then click See Cabins.
Now, you will have to select the specific cabin that you want. The picture on the right side of the screen shows the layout of the ship and where each specific cabin on that deck is located. In the left side of the screen, click Select Cabin beside the cabin number that you want. If it says “Guaranteed Cabin”, you are guaranteed a cabin of this type, but the specific number will be assigned to you when you check into the ship.
Now, you will have to enter some general booking and billing information. We’ll split it into two parts for you; let’s start with the general information. Click in each of the boxes shown and type in or select your title, first name, last name, country of residence, date of birth (month, day, and year), gender, email address, and phone number. Also select when you plan to eat dinner and how many other people you want at your table.
Now, let’s move on to your billing information. Then, type in or select your country of residence, street address, city, region, and mailing code.
When you’re all done, it might not be a bad idea to read some of the legal stuff by clicking the links in blue in the screenshot below, in order to double-check what you’re getting into. When you’re really ready, click Complete Booking.

What are Expedia Cruise Ship Centers?
Expedia Cruise Ship Centers is a branch company of Expedia that specializes in putting together cruise packages for you. It’s good if you want a much more detailed breakdown of everything you’re getting when you book a cruise, but other than that, the booking process is pretty much the same as it is on Expedia’s main website.
You can check it out by typing www.cruiseshipcenters.com into your web browser (or just clicking the blue link we’ve given you here).
Looking to book a complete getaway from the daily grind? Expedia.com lets you book all of your travel accommodations at once! Expedia considers a “Vacation Package” to be two or more of any of these services booked together: flight, hotel, or rental car. Cruises are a bit of a different animal; see our tutorial on how to book Expedia cruises for more information.
Even though you’re booking more than one travel service at once, you can still micro-manage each of them. That means:
For flights, you can pick where you want to depart and arrive, what airline you want to use, what class of seat you want, what date and time you want your flights to be at, and so on.
For hotels, you can select the general location that you want to be in, the type of lodging it is, and what features it has. You can also sort by star rating, guest rating, price, and so on.
For car rentals, you can select the time, date, and location that you want to pick up and drop off your car. You can also pick what class of car you want and what rental car company you want to get it from.

Click Search when you’re ready to move on.
If Expedia can’t find certain departure points or destinations (or there is more than one place with the same name), it will make suggestions for you on this page. You can click an option to select it, or accept Expedia’s suggestion, and then click Search.
Expedia will come up with a whole bunch of custom travel packages that you can choose from. This page has a lot of information on it, so refer to the numbered captions below the screenshot to understand what everything does.

When you’re done, click Continue Booking at the bottom of the screen.
There are two other main things you need to do to finish booking your trip. The first is decide if you want extra travel insurance — in case you need to cancel your trip or have some other mishap — or car insurance from Expedia. Click the button beside the plan(s) that you want, or click the buttons beside “No, I don’t need travel protection” and/or “No, I don’t need car rental insurance” if you want to rely on your regular insurance to cover things.
The other thing you need to do is fill in your billing information, starting with your credit card information. Click in the boxes marked with an asterisk (*) and type in or select your credit card number, type, expiration date (month and year), ID number (click What’s This? for help finding it), and your first and last name as they appear on your card.
Next, you will need to fill in your billing address. Start by clicking one of the buttons below that heading to indicate if your billing address is inside the US or not. Then click in the boxes below the buttons and type in or select your street address, city, region, mailing code, country (if outside the US) phone country code, and phone number.

Need a set of wheels to get around when you reach your next travel destination? With Expedia you can:
Pick the locations (near) where you’ll be picking up or dropping off your rental car.
Choose how long you’re going to be using your rental car, including the time and date that you’ll be picking it up and dropping it off.
Choose what class of car you want, as well as the rental car company that you want it from. You can compare prices this way, too.
How to Rent a Car on Expedia
Go to www.expedia.com in your web browser (if you haven’t already) and click on Cars in the menu across the top.
You’ll use the window on the left side of the screen to set things up. First, click one of the buttons near the top to select what services you want to book together. Then, click in each of the boxes below that and type in or select your pick-up point, date, and time. Do the same for the drop-off point, date, and time in the boxes below that.
You can also click the drop-down menu labeled “Car Type” if you’re looking for a specific type of car, such as a convertible or sport utility vehicle. If you have a preference of which company you rent your car from, you can indicate that in the drop-down menu marked “Rental Car Company.” The last drop-down menu allows you to select a discount to apply to your rental, if one is available. When you’ve filled out the form, click Search.
In the next screen, you will see a chart with the different classes of cars and different rental car companies available. You can click the Prev or Next buttons in the top-right corner to see more options for companies, if there are any. Click the option in the grid that you like to continue.
There are two other main things you need to do to book your car rental. The first is deciding whether or not you want additional collision coverage. You can get additional coverage from Expedia, or you can get it straight from the rental car company, or just rely on your own auto insurance. Click the respective buttons beside “Yes, add this plan” or “No, decline insurance” to make your choice.
The second thing to do is enter your contact information so that Expedia or the rental car company can confirm your booking, and get in touch with you if need be. Then click on the box labelled “Email Address” and type in the email address that you want Expedia to send your booking confirmation to.Finally, in the box labelled “Phone Number”, click the flag to select your country from the drop-down menu, (so Expedia and the rental car company knows the country code to use if they need to phone you), then click the box beside the flag and type in your phone number.
When you’re done, it might not be a bad idea to read some of the legal stuff by clicking the links in blue in the screenshot below, in order to double-check what you’re getting into. When you’re really ready, click Complete Booking.

Certain non-refundable flights may still be refunded with credit for the same airline.
Certain airlines must be contacted directly in order to cancel a flight.

Once you find a hotel that you like, click on its name.
Scroll down to the “Book Your Room” window on the next page to see what rooms are available. Click Book next to the room you want to begin the booking process.
There are three main things that you need to do on the next screen. The first is to enter your contact details in case Expedia or the hotel itself needs to get in touch with you.Click the box labelled “Contact Name” and type in your first and last name.In the box labelled “Phone Number,” click the flag to select your country from the drop-down menu (so Expedia or the hotel knows what country code to apply when they call you). Note that the prices listed here are what you will pay for your flight if you select the least expensive return flight; some return flights may cost a little bit more.
