How to Sign Up for Deals

You’re already saving money by checking different rental property websites at the same time for the lowest price.  But how would you like to get even better prices on your rental property bookings through by getting exclusive promotional codes and deals?  This lesson will show you how.

It’s really just as easy as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Go to in your web browser.  In the top-right corner of the screen, you should see a menu that says Deals.  Move your mouse cursor over it, which should cause a box to appear.

    Click in the box labelled “Enter Your Email Address” and type in your email address.  Then click Show Me the Discounts.

  2. Once you are signed up for deal alerts from, if you move your mouse cursor over Deals again, you will see deals of the day in the form of promotional codes.  Make use of them if you can!

  3. You can also click Deals to see the most popular deals on right now.  From there, you can click Get Deal beside a listing to go straight to it!


Those are the basics of getting exclusive deals on!

How to Book on

In our last lesson, we showed you how to search for listings on  But how do you book a stay at one?  As you may have noticed, most listings on will direct you to the partner websites of, and then you will have to book the rental property from there.  However, there are certain listings that you can book right on itself!  This lesson will show you how to do that.

How to book a rental property through

  1. Go to and search for a rental property listing that says "Book Now on".  (See steps 1 and 3 in our How to Search tutorial for help with searching for rental property listings.)  Then click on Book on

  2. On the next page, you will have to enter three sets of information.  Let's start with the first two.

    The first set of information is your guest information.  Scroll down until you see the heading "Your Guest Details", and then click in each of the boxes here and enter:

    – your first name
    – your last name
    – your email address
    – your phone number

    Once you've filled in that information, scroll down until you see the heading "Your Payment Information", and the click in each of the boxes and type in:

    – your credit card number
    – your credit card's security code
    – the month and year that your credit card expires in

  3. The last thing you will have to fill in is your billing information. 

    Scroll down until you see the heading "Your Billing Information", and then click in each of the boxes and type in or select:

    – your name (as it appears on your credit card)
    – your street address (use the second line for a unit address, if applicable)
    – the city in which you live
    – the state, province, or territory in which you live
    – your area mailing code
    – the country in which you live

  4. Be sure to review the terms and conditions of the property before you decide to book it.  When you're ready, click Book Now.

How to Search

Searching on is one of the most fundamental ways to find bargains on rental properties all over the globe.  In this lesson, we'll go over how to use the different search functions and change your search parameters.

How to search on

  1. Go to in your web browser, where you should see the main search bar.

    Click in the box labelled "What Is Your Destination?" and type in the place that you'd like to search for a rental property.  A drop-down menu should appear with some suggestions; click one to select a place that has listings for.

    Next, click in the box labelled "Check In" and use the calendar interface to select the date that you will be starting your stay at the rental property.  Click on the arrows at the top to scroll through the months, and then click on a date to select it.  Repeat this for the box labelled "Check Out".

    When you've entered all of your information, click Search.

  2. In the main search window on the right, you can see the different rental properties available at the location you selected and (if applicable) for the dates that you specified.

    When you move your mouse cursor over a listing, it will cycle through different pictures of the property.  Below the pictures, you can see how many bedrooms and bathrooms the property has, as well as a general rating of the property (if applicable, and as given on the websites that it's listed on).

    At the bottom of the page, you can click the arrows and numbers to browse the different pages of listings.

    At the bottom of a particular listing, you will see the websites that the property is listed on, as well as the price(s) that it is being listed for.  Click one of these to go to the noted website and begin the booking process.

    (NOTE: Some properties will be marked "Book Now on".  We'll show you how you can book these immediately, without leaving the website, in our How to Book on tutorial!)

  3. On the left-hand side of the page, you can see a map of the rental properties available in the area that you have specified.

    Click on a location on the map marked with a house icon to view the listing on your current page of search results.  Click on the picture that pops up to begin booking the property on the specified website, or click the "X" in the top-right corner to close the pop-up.

    The map interface itself is powered by Google Maps, so you can click and hold the mouse button down, and then move the mouse around to move the map view.  You can also click the "+" and "" buttons to zoom the map in or out.  Click Redo Search in Map to search for rental properties that match your criteria within the current map area.

  4. Across the top of the screen, you can change your destination, check-in / check-out dates, minimum and/or maximum price, and number of travelers by clicking in the respective boxes and typing in and/or selecting new criteria.  You can also click the Filter button to open additional options for your search results. 

    You can:

    – set a minimum number of bedrooms or bathrooms, or a maximum number of occupants
    – set a minimum and/or maximum listing price
    – select a specific type of rental property that you want
    – include properties only from specific booking websites
    – include properties that have specific amenities (click Show More for more options)
    – change prices to reflect nightly, weekly, or monthly rates
    – change prices to be in a particular currency

    Extra filtering criteria will appear in grey boxes beside the Filters button.  Click the "X" beside a criterion to remove it.

    You can also click the drop-down menu labelled Sort by Best Match to sort your search results by how well they match your criteria, or by price (either low to high, or high to low).
