How to Reset Your Netflix Password

If you forget your Netflix password, or think a stranger has found their way into your account and locked you out, you can reset your password and kick out anyone else who may be using your account at the time.  This tutorial will teach you how to do it.

To reset a Netflix password:

  1. Go to www.netflix.com in your web browser and click Sign In.

  2. At the sign in screen, click Forgot Your Email or Password?

  3. Click in the box labelled “Email” and type in the email address that you used to sign up for your Netflix account.  Then click Continue.  This will cause Netflix to send an email to that account with instructions on how to reset your password.

  4. Log into your email account and open the email from Netflix titled “Netflix Password Request”.  Click where it says Click Here as highlighted in the screenshot below.

  5. You will be taken to a new screen where you can reset your password.  Click in the box labelled “New Password” and type in the new password that you want to use for your Netflix account. Then click in the box labelled “Confirm New Password” and type in a copy of the password that you just entered.

You can also click the check box here to mark it.  This logs out anyone who is currently using your Netflix account, and forces them to log in again with your new password.  (You can use this if you think someone is using your account against your will.)  When you’re done, click Save.

Alright!  Your Netflix account should be back up and running, with a new password to boot!  Now, remember to write down your new password somewhere so that you won’t forget it, and be sure to store it in a safe place so that only people you trust can find and use it!

How to Change Your Netflix Password

It’s important to keep your Netflix account secure.  As we went over in our Netflix Data Usage tutorial, overuse of Netflix can result in costly extra charges on your monthly telecom bill, so you’re going to want to make sure that the only people who can access your account are those who can use it responsibly.  A core way to do this is by changing your Netflix password every now and then.

To change a Netflix password:

  1. Go to www.netflix.com in your web browser and log in.

  2. Move your mouse cursor over your name in the top-right corner and select Your Account from the drop-down menu.

  3. In the “Membership & Billing” section, click Change Password.

  4. Click in the box labelled “Current Password” and type in the password that you are using for your Netflix account right now.  Then click in the box labelled “New Password” and type in the password that you wish to use for your Netflix account going forward.  Then click in the box labelled “Confirm New Password” and type in a copy of the new password that you just picked.  (All of them will appear as bullet points to protect them from being seen by over-the-shoulder snoops.)

You can also click the check box here to mark it, which makes it so that everyone who is currently logged into your account on Netflix is logged out and must log in again using the new password.  (This is useful if you think someone else is using your account without your permission.)  Then click Save.

That’s how you change your Netflix password!  Be sure to write it down somewhere so that you don’t forget it, and make sure that you keep it safe from anyone you don’t want using your account!

How You Can Manage Your DVD Queue

Sign in to www.dvd.netflix.com and search for a movie title or actor’s name in the search bar. When you get your search results, find the title you’re looking for, and click Add to add the movie to your queue.

You can also search for movies by selecting Browse DVDs to see the newest releases and top picks. Rate the suggestions given to you to give Netflix a better idea of what to recommend. Select Not Interested if you would like a particular suggestion to be erased from Netflix’s recommendations.

If you want your fifth pick to be your third, you can go to your queue by selecting DVD Queue at the top of any Netflix page and type the number “3” to the left of the title, under the List Order column, or drag and drop it to bump it up in your queue. Select Top to move a particular item to the top, or select the X on the far right to remove the item from your queue completely,

When you’re finished watching your movie or show, slip the disc into the mailer envelope provided, ship it back to Netflix, and wait for your next selection to arrive.
