How to Reset Your Pandora Password

It's never a nice feeling to get locked out of an online account because you can't remember your password for it.  Fortunately, Pandora is a free service, so it's not a huge loss.  On the other hand, if you're paying for a Pandora One subscription, not being able to access your Pandora account may be a little more problematic.  In any event, if you need to get back into your Pandora account, here's what to do.

To reset your Pandora password:

1. Go to Pandora and attempt to log in.

Go to in your web browser.  In the top-right corner, click Log In.

2. Tell Pandora that you forgot your password.

On the log-in screen for Pandora, click Forgot Password? near the bottom of the screen.

3. Get Pandora to send you an email to help you reset your password.

On the screen that appears, click in the box labelled "Email Address" and type in the email address that you used to sign up for Pandora.  Then click Reset Password.  This will cause Pandora to send an email to you with a hyperlink that will take you to a place where you can reset your Pandora password.

4. Find the Password reset email from Pandora, and click the hyperlink inside it.

Go to your email client and find the email from Pandora Support titled "Reset Your Pandora Password".  Click on it to open it, and then click the blue hyperlink inside (blurred out here for privacy reasons).

Note that you have to use this hyperlink within 24 hours of getting it, or else it will expire and you'll have to start this tutorial over again.

5. Pick a new password for your Pandora account, and confirm it by entering it again.

On the screen that appears, click in the box labelled "New Password" and type in the new password that you want to use to protect your Pandora account.  Remember, it has to be at least six characters in length.  Then, click in the box labelled "Confirm Password" and type in a copy of the password that you just chose.  Finally, click Reset Password.

How to Change Your Pandora Password

Pandora can be used without an account, so you may not ever have to deal with changing your Pandora account password for security reasons.  If you have a Pandora account, though, it may not be a bad idea to give it as strong a password as you can.  This makes sure that other people can't get in and mess with your preferences, snoop on your personal information, or take advantage of the Pandora One subscription that's being paid for by YOU (if you have one).  So if you're looking to upgrade the password on your Pandora account, this lesson will show you what to do.

To change your Pandora password:

1. Log into your Pandora account.

If you need some help remembering how to do this, the first section of our How to Use Pandora tutorial will explain what you need to do.

2. Click on your email address, and select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.

Clicking on your email address gives you access to your settings and profile, Pandora's help section, and the ability to log out of your Pandora account.  For our purposes, click Settings.

3. Select your "Account" settings, click in the box labelled "Password, delete your old password, and type in a new one.

You should automatically be taken to the Account section of your settings; click Account if you get lost to come back to this screen.  Next, click inside the box labelled "Password" at the end of the dots that stand in for your password, and press the "Backspace" key on your keyboard until your password is gone.  Then, simply type in a new password that you would like to use to protect your Pandora account.  Remember, it has to be at least six characters long!

4. Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the screen to save your new password.

Scroll to the bottom of your "Settings" screen, and you should see a Save Changes button.  Click this button to save all changes that you have currently made to your Account settings, including the new password that you picked.
