4 Tips for Contacting Snapchat Support

1. Try contacting the Snapchat support team via email.

You can try sending Snapchat support an email, but there is no guarantee that you’ll get a reply. This isn’t the greatest way to get in touch with Snapchat, especially if you want a reply quickly. It’s worth a shot, though! You can send an email to Snapchat at:

Keep in mind that Snapchat support probably gets tons of emails from people just like you, so it’s hard for them to respond to every single one in a timely manner.

2. Reach out to Snapchat customer support on Twitter to get a quick response.

Perhaps the quickest way to get in touch with Snapchat is to reach out to them on Twitter. You can see the Snapchat Support Twitter page here. You can “tag” or “mention” them in a tweet, by putting @snapchatsupport followed by your inquiry. You can also send them a direct message by clicking the Message button on their profile.

Contacting on Twitter is a great way to get a response promptly, because anyone who follows Snapchat on Twitter will see this issue, and Snapchat wants its users to know they will resolve problems quickly when everyone can see that there are issues. No one can see that you sent an email to Snapchat, which is probably why they don’t put as much effort into responding to emails.

3. Read some information on Snapchat’s support website. You might be able to figure out your issue on your own.

Snapchat has a support website that is similar to the in-app support system. However, the great thing about the website is that you can access it on your computer or on a mobile device or tablet – all you need is a web browser. This is especially useful if the issue you’re having prevents you from logging in to the app. Check out the Snapchat support website here:

There are pages on this website that may help you to solve your issue on your own, without the need for individual assistance from a Snapchat representative. Check out this site and see if you can find the information you need to figure out your issue by yourself. This might be a much quicker way to solve your problem.

4. Be patient and understanding with Snapchat’s customer service team.

The Snapchat support team likely gets thousands of messages like yours every day, so it can be difficult for them to respond to each one quickly. Remember that Snapchat support is there to help you, and if they can’t get to your issue right away, it’s not because they don’t want to help.

How to Reset Your Snapchat Password

In the unfortunate event that you forget the password to your Snapchat account — or in the REALLY unfortunate event that you think someone else can get into and use your account — you can deactivate your current password and pick a new one.  This lesson will show you how.

Ironically, though Snapchat is an application for mobile devices, you have to go to Snapchat’s website to reset your password.  The same is true if you wish to delete your Snapchat account.

To reset your Snapchat password:

1. Open your web browser, go to, and click “Support”.

The Support option is underneath the “Company” category, so scroll down a bit if you don’t immediately see it.

2. Click “How Do I Reset a Forgotten Password?”

You should see this option on the support menu under the “Popular Topics” category.

3. Enter your email address, and pass the security check.

On the next screen, click in the box labelled “Email” and type in your email address.  Next, click in the check box labelled “I’m Not a Robot” to pass a security check; this tells Snapchat that you’re not an automated computer program trying to cause trouble.  Finally, click Submit.

Snapchat will send an email to the address you entered with instructions on how to reset your password.

4. Log into your email client, open the email from Team Snapchat, and click the password reset link.

Go to your email client and log in.  Find the email from Team Snapchat labelled “Snapchat Password Reset” and click on it to open it.  Click on the blue hyperlink (blurred out here for privacy purposes) within the email to continue.

You will be directed to a form that will let you reset your password.

5. Type in and confirm your new password.

Click in the box labelled “New Password” and type in the password that you would like to use to protect your Snapchat account with from now on.  Like if you change your Snapchat password, your new password must be at least 8 characters long, and must contain at least two character types (i.e. lower-case letters, upper-case letters, numbers, or symbols).  Then, click in the box labelled “Re-Enter New Password” and type in a copy of the password that you just picked.  When you’re done, click Change Password.

There!  You have successfully reset the password for your Snapchat account!

How to Change Your Snapchat Password

As we mentioned in our discussion of Snapchat safety and privacy, one of the key ways to stay safe on Snapchat is to not let anyone else use your account.  Part of this strategy should include a strong password to keep other people from logging in under your name.  This lesson will show you how to replace your current Snapchat account password with a stronger one, if you should feel the need to.

For tips on how to come up with passwords that are both secure and easy to remember, see our How to Make a Strong Password tutorial.

To change a Snapchat password:

1. Turn on your mobile device, open “Snapchat”, and log into it.

2. Tap the “ghost” icon to go to your profile.

The ghost icon is in the top-middle of the main screen on Snapchat.

3. Tap the “gear” icon to go to your settings.

The gear icon is in the top-right corner of your profile screen.

4. Tap “Password”.

If you don’t immediately see the Password option, scroll down through your settings menu.

5. Enter your former password, and then tap “Continue”.

To change your Snapchat password, you must enter your old one first.  Use your (virtual) keyboard on your mobile device to type it in, and then tap Continue.

6. Enter a new password, as well as a copy of it, and then tap “Save”.

Tap in the box labelled “New Password” and type in your new password.  It must be at least 8 characters long, and contain at least two character types (lower-case letters, upper-case letters, numbers, or symbols).  Then, tap in the box labelled “Confirm Password” and re-type your new password.  When both boxes match, tap Save.

Alright!  You now have a brand new password protecting your Snapchat account.

If you can’t log into your Snapchat account because you’ve forgotten your password or your account has otherwise been compromised, we’ll show you what to do in this reset your Snapchat password tutorial.

How Does Snapchat Make Money?

Now that you’ve learned about Snapchat and how to use it, you may be wondering how they manage to keep such an awesome app free to use. There are a couple of ways Snapchat brings in revenue, so in this article, we’ll tell you about how Snapchat makes money.

So, how does Snapchat make money?

Snapchat makes money through paid content partnerships. Companies post “stories” in the “Discover” and “Live” sections of the “Stories” menu, and get paid whenever they are viewed. Snapchat also makes money by selling “replays”, which allow users to watch “snaps” that they receive twice instead of once.

See our Snapchat Stories article for more information.

What are Snapchat “replays”?

Normally, you are only allowed to view a “snap” that you receive on Snapchat once, and then it disappears. However, you can use “replays” to view snaps on Snapchat up to two times. If you wish to replay a snap on Snapchat, you must do so immediately after viewing it (i.e. before you do anything else in the app, or close the app). In addition, you can only use one replay on each snap, meaning that you cannot view a snap more than twice.

You are allowed to replay one snap for free every 24 hours. If you wish to replay additional snaps, you must purchase additional replays.

How do I use Snapchat replays, and how can I get more of them?

To replay a snap after viewing it, press and hold on the name of the person who sent it to you, and then tap their name again. If you do not have any replays remaining, you will be prompted to purchase more through the Apple App Store (if you’re using Snapchat on an iPad, iPhone, or other iOS operating system device) or the Google Play Store (if you’re using a device with an Android operating system). You will need a valid Apple ID or Google account, with registered billing information, to do so.

This help article on Snapchat illustrates how to use Snapchat replays, and how to purchase more.

If you wish to disable the ability to purchase additional replays on Snapchat, you will need to adjust your settings for making in-app purchases on your device. This article on Snapchat can help you with that.
